Act before its late

Dear Editor,

Time to bring the change on our own, the burning issue of lawlessness and corruption of this Himalayan state after witnessing series of traumatizing incident over the days, months and years, I feel that seeking justice from GoAP is like expecting strawberry on a mango tree whether it be a Vandalism related case, extortion, attack on media persons and manhandling of government employees, murder or an interstate boundary dispute. Sad to say we Aarunachalee’s are like unmindful mother who only care when her own child cries. While driving on the road we carry crab mentality on a one lane highway as we own the road. In 60-members assembly seat present Congress government has 55 MLA’s and still no one dares to be the Home Minister to restrain the ongoing lawlessness wave among citizens. We the citizens of Arunachal are suffering from a disease call short term-memory loss, cause we vote for the same leader whom we have been cursing for the last few years and even if we go for a wind of change by electing a new leader, the new incumbent person is already corrupted before joining actual politics, so can we except pro-public initiatives? Can we expect healthy pro-public debate in the assembly with only 4 opposition MLAs to highlight public grievances? All I can hear is a big No Apart from that Right to Information Act 2005, though presently Rusting which is the only sole mechanism through which we can nab out the misappropriation of fund by any public or government servant or an individual are being used as black mailing weapon for earning easy money by selfish-student leader. NGOs and self proclaim intellect. My question is how can we expect transparent and corruption free Arunachal in the years to come with perpetual trend as mentioned above? The empowered on or so-call torch bearers are the one busy making money instead of fighting against the injustice made to common public. Now a day, government officer and engineer are more powerful than MP’s and MLA’s because they have more money to influence them during election period (un-fabricated practical truth). My fellow like-mined Arunachalee citizen your little initiation in empowering your family, relatives, friends and neighbor will make difference in days to come and also by creating awareness in order to restrain money for vote which is the root cause of everything. It’s my sincere reminder and a hearty request time to bring the change on our own.

Yours

Non Communicable Diseases common among poor people

Poor people are relatively more burdened with higher prevalence of several Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs)  in India, said researchers.

The study found that majority of the NCDs were concentrated among the poor people when the analysis was performed using the 'standardized objective measure of detection' of NCDs whereas concentrated among the rich people while using the conventional self-reported 'data of prevalence'.

According to the study, rates of the NCDs are projected to increase dramatically in India and other low-and-middle income countries over the next two decades, and are projected to cause millions of deaths and huge loss of national income due to both lost production and healthcare costs.

The study analyzed the socio-economic inequality in prevalence of common NCDs such as heart diseases, hypertension, asthma and chronic lung diseases, vision problems, depression. The study used validated standardized objective measures to detect the prevalence and then compared with self-reported diagnoses rates of prevalence.

These findings suggest that the development programmes for poverty alleviation should also incorporate programmes of the prevention and management of the NCDs.
