ITANAGAR, Jul 17: Informing that two suspension bridges, Yami and Taki, under Pipsorang circle was damaged during the heavy rainfall on July 5 night, the Raha Welfare Society (RWS) has requested chief minister and Kurung Kumey DC to provide adequate fund for its reconstruction.

35 qualify in ITBP tests

ITANAGAR, Jul 17: The All Nyapin, Sangram Phassang Youth Welfare Association (NSPYWA) has mourned the demise of Gyamar Tagi who was found dead on July 6 at Dikrong Sapori in Assam.
In a release, it alleged that negligence of the school authority had led to the death of the young boy.
Demanding termination of the person responsible, it urged the state government and the police department for immediate investigation for finding out reason behind the death.

TPPWF demands sufficient staff at Parang CO

ITANAGAR, Jul 17: Arunachal Pradesh College Teachers’ Association (APCTA), DNGC, Itanagar Unit vehemently condemned the ‘atrocious’ attitude of one BA III year student of the college at the time of verification of admission forms on July 17.
The Association appealed to the Principal of the college to initiate stringent action against the student as per rules so that such act of indiscipline does not recur. Further, the Association has decided to boycott the ongoing admission process if no action is taken against the student at the earliest possible.
An APCTA release alleged that one student of the college misbehaved with three faculty members and attempted to assault them during the verification process.

ARSU claims DSE to post teachers
ITANAGAR, Jul 17: All Hrusso (Aka) Students’ Union (ARSU), in a release claimed that the Director of School Education (DSE) had assured the union to post sufficient teachers (JT) at GHSS, Thrizino before end of this month. The DSE further assured the ARSU to sanction post of senior teachers (ST) for higher secondary level within next, ARSU said in a release.

ITANAGAR, Jul 17: Galo Students’ Union (GSU) in a memorandum has appealed to the Director of Elementary Education (DEE) for early posting of teachers for Social Science, English and Hindi at Government Secondary School Maro in the greater interest of the students of the school.
Seven teachers were transferred from the school last year without reliever which has adversely affected the academic study of the students of more than 10 villages, GSU memorandum to the DEE said.
GSU also urged the DEE for early repairing of both the Boys and Girls hostels which is lying unrepaired for more than 10 years.

Main conspirator of journalist shooting case still on the run
ITANAGAR, Jul 17: After a week since the breakthrough in the Journalist shooting case, the Capital police is yet to arrest the alleged conspirator Yumlam Achung.
Addressing media persons in his office here today, Papum Pare SP Nabam Gungte, who is also presently holding charge of Capital SP said, “Yumlam Achung has been absconding since the day the report was filed against him.”
The SP informed that Achung has been booked under section 120(B) for criminal conspiracy, 307 and 34 IPC while the other two accused were booked under Arms Act 25 (1A).
According to SP, Achung had engaged Ajit Pegu and Raju Gurung to accomplish the crime.
Police on July 10 had come up with a disclosure that it had filed chargesheet against three accused Raju Gurung, Ajit Pegu and Achung for their involvement in Tongam Rina shooting case.
The investigation of the case has been completed and prima facie case well established against accused Raju Gurung, Ajit Pegu and Yumlang Achung. The case was submitted into charge sheet vide CS no. 168/2013 on dated 10.07.2013 in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Capital Complex, Itanagar for trial, the report further read.
Achung on July 12, just a day after the report of his involvement in the case was published, had dismissed the accusation saying he was never involved in the case. His clarification was published on July 13 in the local dailies.

The Institute also plans to work in close coordination with State Tourism and Sports department to conduct courses on Trekking & Mountain Guides, Self groups for Home stay management and eco camps. ITANAGAR, Jul 17: All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has opened their ‘political dialogue’ with the refugees. Earlier AAPSU had suspended the dialogue and asked the refugee to behave like a refugee and also to abide by the law of land. The Joint High Power Committee (JHPC) comprising the representatives of central government, state government, AAPSU and representatives of refugees have jointly inspected the refugee settlement areas of Changlang and Lohit during its ten days tour starting from July 8.
The AAPSU team headed by its president Kamta Lapung, vice president (Admn) cum chairman on refugee issue Likha Takar and supported by respective district administration and personnel of forest department took three days tour to complete survey in Diyun area of Changlang district.

PCCF, Itanagar and DFO, said, lack of men power and related equipments are main weakness of the department to check illegal invasion of refugees inside the reserved areas. Repeated violation on forest laws despite several warning of department is a major challenge posed by the refugees against department of forest and environment added Gogoi. AAPSU demanded the state government to immediately conduct massive eviction drive against illegal settlers inside the forest reserved areas as it will stop further destruction.

AAPSU while referring to the sources collected from the district administration, said that since 1964 to till date there are many criminal records of the refugees. They have ransacked governmental machineries including police station, forest department and also of individual properties several times, stated AAPSU. Further AAPSU alleged that Chakmas “creating terrorism in the districts and state as whole” adding that it would not spare even an inch of land to refugees.
AAPSU strongly demanded state government to create a department of refugee affairs and also send them back to the designated blocks. It further demanded the state Govt to provide adequate vehicles to district administration, forest departments of the respective district for proper monitoring of activities of refugees.

ITANAGAR, Jul 17: While referring to the press released published in local dailies on July 11 last, Yumlam Mena, wife of Yumlam Achung strongly denied involvement of her husband in journalist Tongam Rina shooting case.
In a press release, she said that her husband was accused of as mastermind behind journalist shooting case again by applying the same method which was applied earlier against her husband on 28th July 2012 in the same case. Claiming that she had interacted with accused who had denied involvement of her husband in journalist shooting case, Mena appealed to law enforcing authority of Capital Complex to intervene in this matter judiciously. “Kingship knows no kinship” is what I wanted in this case, she said adding “without any concrete clue, accusing or alleging someone and thereby torturing mentally is not good.” She further questioned why the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had refused to take up investigation in Tongam shooting case and turned down the request sent from the state Govt?
“All these melodrama being played against him reflects the image of some big fat politicians and mirror image is reflecting everything towards politics; for sure some political biggies are surely behind accusing my husband as mastermind behind the Tongam Rina shooting case”, she said and appealed to the higher authorities of police department including DIG and law enforcing authority of the state and nation as whole to look into the matter judiciously without any partiality to solve it amicably.
First test tube Yak calf born at Dirang NRC
ITANAGAR, Jul 17: The first test tube yak calf was born at Nyukmadung farm of National Research Centre on Yak (NRC on Yak), ICAR, Dirang on July 15.
The male yak calf weighing 19 kg is the result of transfer of cryopreserved yak embryo produced through in vitro fertilization of oocytes retrieved through ultrasound guided ovum pick up (OPU) technique from donor yak. The new born is named “Norgyal” meaning “Ratnaraj”.
The recipient yak performed normal parturition at Nyukmadung farm of National Research Centre on Yak in the evening.
The achievement is a breakthrough towards conservation and multiplication of elite yaks in the Country. The collaborative work was conducted with the support from the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology under the principal invetigatorship of Dr. P Chakravarty, Principal Scientist, NRC on Yak & Dr. M.S.Chauhan, Principal Scientist, NDRI, Karnal and various other resource persons.
Help and support from earlier Directors of NRC on Yak, Dr. M. Chairing the review meeting, Deputy Commissioner A K Singh reiterated for need base projects which have a direct and immediate bearing on the people.
Sensing the need for a speedy and proper implementation of the schemes being implemented in the district, Singh coaxed some of the executing departments to fare better and to carry out ones’ duty with a missionary zeal.
Expressing concern over the administrative officers being kept in dark about the various schemes being implemented, Singh fixed the responsibility on the Planning office to provide the list of the schemes being implemented by the executing agencies in the concerned administrative circles.
It also came to fore that the schemes in the district are not being selected by the authorized and competent body to do so to which the Deputy Commissioner proposed to take up the matter with all MLAs of the district for streamlining of the selection process of the various schemes to be implemented in the district in the larger interest of the people.
Various executing agencies like RWD, PWD, WRD, PHED, Power, HPD, DRDA, Textile and Handicrafts and Fisheries presented the schemes being undertaken by them through Power point presentations.
Of the various suggestions and directives by the DC, one was that of the revenue recovery drive for which the district administration would facilitate on quarterly basis and emphasis on skill development programme all over the district to revive the rare craftsmanship which is on the verge of extinction.

ROING, Jul 17: The fourth Naba Ita Pulu Memorial Football Tournament kicked off today with the theme ‘Say no to drugs’ in an impressive ceremony held in general ground.
The tournament was declared open by Sipi Elapra, Zilla Parishad Chairperson, Lower Dibang Valley district. The opening ceremony was marked by colourful dances displayed by school children.
In her opening speech, the ZIlla Chairperson lauded the Dibang Sports Club (DSC) for hosting the tournament consistently for four years.
She said through this tournament, it’s an opportunity to pay our gratitude to the great soul late Ita Pulu and to remind ourselves of his contributions made to the society.
Touching upon the theme of the game, she adviced the youths to engage themselves in physical activities like games and sports and to stay away from drug addiction.
In this year’s race for the memorial cup, nineteen teams are participating in the tournament. The final match will be played on August 11.
For the organizers, it will require a lot of effort to host the tournaments that will last almost a month. However, the organizer seem quite motivated.

There is no denying that some people are indulging in indiscriminate cutting and felling of trees for Jhoom cultivation, firewood etc. They also pollute river water by unnatural means of fishing such as use of blasting (bomb), bleaching powder, generator, etc. There are also reports of indiscriminate killing of wild life for commercial purpose and pollution of soil by using plastics materials, wine bottles and many other non degradable materials.
These acts of some mindless people are very serious threat to the very existence of human race. Before it’s too late, we must collectively defy such ruthless, indiscriminate anti environmental activities which are causing ecological imbalance and global warming, the concern for the whole world.
